‘I really enjoyed my first experience of Lino printing with Heather. She made the experience fun and I felt very creative. So pleased with the results and looking forward to trying more of Heather’s wonderful workshops.’

Louise

‘Heather helped to break down how to draw out my design in the first place, and playing with the tools on scrap Lino before starting made sure that my final piece was perfect. [my sunflower design has] been complimented lots…getting compliments on something I designed then carved from scratch is the absolute biggest mood boost and makes me feel like I’m not necessarily just playing at being creative, I AM creative. I now feel more inclined to give drawing my own designs a go.’

A Little Bit About Me

Heather with her limited edition nature and coastal prints

Hi, I’m Heather and I believe that EVERYONE can make art. I also believe that art is a great healer and allows us to get in touch with hidden parts of our personality.

I have been exhibited in galleries across the UK, featured in glossy lifestyle mags such as Coast Magazine and been invited to speak and demonstrate at Living North LIVE. I have also had the total joy of using my art to raise funds and awareness for Samaritans as well as using art as a way to unlock conversations and confidence with a local women’s charity.

I’ve experienced the mental health struggles that come with neglecting your self care and art has been a key tool in helping me become the best version of myself.

Whatever you think of your art skills, I will show you that there is an artist in all of us.

FAQs

How long are the sessions?

Sessions are 2 hours. They either run from 10am - 12pm or 1pm - 3pm

Can I bring a friend?

Of course. Linocut is a great way to spend time with a friend!

How many people can come to a workshop?

I keep numbers to a maximum of 5. This allows for everyone to get enough attention and have enough space. It also means that everyone can have time trying out the press.

What will I learn?

How to:

  • design your linocut

  • create different textures with the tools

  • carve accurately

  • get a good registration

  • play around with colour placement and mixing

I haven’t done anything arty for years. Can I still get something out of it?

That’s absolutely fine. You’ll get guidance through the entire process and there will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions along the way. You are going to feel so inspired by the time you leave!

How much detail is included?

Everything you need to create your first print series is included in these two hours. It’s perfect for beginners.

Do I need previous skills to take part?

Not at all. If you are skilled in other art forms then that’s great but not at all necessary.

Are there payment plans?

Depending on how many tickets you book you may be able to take advantage of PayPal’s Pay in 3 scheme. Otherwise it is one payment of £40.
