A Special Spot for Original Linocut Prints

It’s very important for me to develop relationships with independent galleries and artisan shops - they truly understand the value of what I do and what their clients are looking for. Find out all about The Chantry in Morpeth, what you can find there and why I love working with them.

The Charm of The Chantry, Morpeth

Located in a 13th century Grade 1 listed building, The Morpeth Chantry houses a fabulous collection of art and handmade gifts from across the north east of England. Originally a toll house and chapel, the building was deconstructed and rebuilt into a grammar school in the 1500s and has since been a butchers, tobacconists and corporation hall. Whatever its use, it has always been a bustling part of the community and continues to be so to this day. Perched next to the ancient bridge over the River Wansbeck, it’s a stones throw from Carlisle Park and the beautiful centre of Morpeth - a stunning market town with eateries a plenty. I recommend The Market Place by the clock tower.

What Makes My Linocut Prints Original

Drawing inspiration from childhood memories, experiences with my daughter and husband and dreams of places to visit in the future, my linocuts are imbued with an enormous sense of nostalgia and hope. Carved from loose designs created in watercolour, my blocks emerge semi instinctively and combine with bold colour palettes to produce impact - pieces that bring joy on every viewing because of the love and passion that goes into every one.

Why I Chose The Chantry to Share My Work

Before I sold my art, I paid many a visit to The Chantry and loved its connection to the local area, friendly staff and sense of community. They celebrate the talents from the local area and channel joy, colour, and development of creative ideas. Every creative that has work in The Chantry takes ownership for their display so you get a real sense of the artist.
