Hand Printed 'Rising' Tidal Wave Lino Reduction Print with Sunrise background
Rising – Limited Edition Lino Print
Vivid colour. Coastal calm. A new day rising.
Rising is a celebration of those golden early mornings on the coast — when the light pours over the sea and everything feels possible. The waves begin to build and shimmer, kissed by the rising sun’s yellows and oranges, and for a moment, the world expands with promise.
I created this piece to energise and soothe — for interiors that feel vibrant, warm, and full of reflection. It invites you to breathe deep, let go of worry, and reconnect with nature’s rhythm.
The Process
Printed by hand using the linocut reduction technique, this piece was made from a single lino block that was gradually carved away between each of the seven printed layers. This method ensures that each print is completely unique and that the edition is truly limited — no reprints are possible.
Inks are Cranfield Traditional oil-based relief inks, layered onto Fabriano Unica 250gsm archival paper, made from 50% cotton and 50% wood pulp. The surface’s subtle texture enhances the blend of sunrise tones and wave detail, creating a luminous finish that shifts with the light.
